Cloth Hall (Lakenhalle) Bronze Replica
A replica in bronze of the Cloth Hall (Lakenhalle) provides visitors and especially those who are visually impaired to feel the shape of the magnificent reconstruction of the Cloth Hall. Bronze panels provide information about the building and the model in braille.
The replica model of the Cloth Hall was presented as a peace memorial. The Service Club Kiwanis Ieper Vlakke Land provided the funding for this model. A Service Club is a not-for-profit organization. Its members do charitable work through the club or they raise money for good causes.
Georges Baert, a local man from Ieper, made the wooden maquette for the design which was cast in bronze.
Location of the Cloth Hall (Lakenhalle) Bronze Replica
The replica model of the Cloth Hall is located on the Grote Markt (market square) opposite the south façade of the Cloth Hall.
