The National World War 1 Museum opened at the site of the restored Liberty Memorial in December 2006. The museum aims to present an interpretation of World War 1 and its consquences. The museum offers a range of permanent, special and online exhibitions throughout the year. Lectures and film screenings are available for the public and battlefield pilgrimages are available for members of the museum. The Research Center provides access to over 60,000 archival documents and objects and almost 6,000 books.

Admission fee with concession rates available for young people aged 6-17, senior citizens, students, and military personnel.
Facilities for Visitors
A museum shop and online shop offer a variety of items for sale, including a large collection of books. 10% discount for teachers.

National Archives at St. Louis
For information about access to Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF) for the WW1 records see the website. In 1973 approximately 16-18 million records were destroyed in a fire. Some 6.5 million records were recovered and some records have been reconstructed. Enquiries for records can take several months to process for this reason.
